The YouTube algorithm promotes videos with proven engagement - and of course, you want people to see your hard work. Therefore, your YouTube thumbnail needs to capture the curiosity of potential viewers, but also needs to establish realistic expectations about the content of the video to entice viewers to watch to the end. Methodology
We first built a seed list of the most popular and most viewed YouTube streamers in ten categories (gaming, science, sports, food, etc.) using social media statistics counters such as SocialBlade.

Next, we used Amazon Rekognition, an AI facial recognition tool, to analyze faces in YouTube thumbnails of the shortlisted YouTube users. Using the detected boundaries, we removed background faces in cases where other people were present in the shot.
